Stories of Care & Control: Practices Towards Building Strategy Webinar Series Launched

We are beyond thrilled to announce the release of an online exploratory course called Stories of Care & Control: Practices Towards Building Strategy Webinar Series. Largely informed by the Stories of Care and Control: A Timeline of the Medical Industrial Complex, this experimental series seeks to deepen and challenge the practice of healers/health practitioners who have an understanding of the Medical Industrial Complex (MIC) and want to confront and/or disrupt the harms and abuses of those systems of care. In this series, participants will also get the opportunity to explore the many contradictions of community care spaces that unknowingly perpetuate similar beliefs & models to the MIC.

Episode 1 will orient participants with the tools to engage in both understanding the Medical Industrial Complex (MIC) inside and outside of community healing spaces that may unknowingly perpetuate harm. This initial webinar seeks to understand ways to build liberatory collective care and safety practices. The aim of this webinar is provide participants with introductions of how & what Healing Histories Project (HHP) is rooted in, grounded in the political frameworks of Healing Justice and breakdown the strategic bind of HHP’s theory of change.

Episode 2 will work to support a web of interventions designed to ensure that collective care and collective safety are at the heart of every healthcare intervention inside and outside of the Medical Industrial Complex (MIC). This webinar also includes an interactive workbook that leads through practices and ways to build interventions while still looking at the contexts and conditions of the present moment we are living in. In tandem, the webinar and workbook are meant to provide a mix of body grounding exercises to best support you to engage with this material as well as a series of reflection questions to assist you in assessing risk, further defining  your strategy & deepening your practice with disrupting the MIC.

This webinar series is offered at sliding scale cost and can be accessed at the following link: https://healinghistoriesproject.podia.com/
